Catholic High School

I photographed a Catholic high school today for their website. Instead of revealing the actual name of the school, I'll call it "St. Somebody". As I began touring the campus with the new principal and an assistant at the start of the photo shoot, we approached a statue of Jesus. The principal said, "Who's that. . .Jesus? We don't need a picture of Him. We're St. Somebody's." Holy smoke!

Happy 4th of July

This is an important day for our country. There will be parades, barbecues, family get-togethers, speeches and fireworks to celebrate our country's independence. I recently learned that the manager of a senior citizen apartment complex in the Palm Springs area planned a huge celebration for the residents there. . .for Cinco de Mayo! But had no intention of doing anything special for the 4th of July until the seniors spoke up and demanded a celebration for the United States. This is America! Be proud. Be respectful. Be careful. And enjoy your freedom.

Phone with a camera

Being a professional photographer, people sometimes laugh when I tell them that my cell phone does not have a camera. Well, I finally replaced my trusty old cell phone with a new Nokia model. . .camera included! So one of the first shots with it is of my favorite real camera - the Canon 1D Mark IIn.
