I went to a photo industry trade show on Friday and bought a gadget that I had been wanting for awhile. It's called a "Lensbaby", and it's a cool little lens that helps create very unique images reminiscent of those made by vintage Holga cameras from Russia. Those plastic toy-like cameras had light leaks and cheap imperfect lenses that produced unusual dreamy looking photographs. I had fun just experimenting with my new toy over the weekend, and it's already clear that this lens will soon become a favorite tool in my camera bag. Here's a few samples.
